Malta

Desperately seeking some sand and sun, my childhood best friend and I planned a holiday to Malta. Prior to planning the trip, I knew little of the Mediterranean island, located south of Sicily. I was genuinely pleased to discover that in addition to the clear, stunning blue and turquoise water, golden beaches and our bronzed tans (aloe, so much aloe), that Malta was more than a beautiful beach destination. The Maltese people, extremely welcoming and kind, were proud to show us their home, which we discovered to be full of charming narrow streets, adorned with traditional Maltese balconies and an abundance of churches.

Wanting both beach time, as well as exploring, we fit a lot in just four short days – Golden Bay, Blue Lagoon, Sliema, Valletta, Rabat and Mdina (shown as in order below).
